Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Arabic Language Center Abu Dhabi (ALC), part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, has unveiled the program of exciting activities it has planned for the Month of reading, which for 2022 will be held under the theme ‘The UAE reads’.
The Centre’s participation in Reading Month, which takes place every March and aims to establish a culture of reading in the UAE community, will include a series of lectures and workshops, an interactive program for children and a competition dedicated to the event, in addition to several new projects and initiatives.
His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of ALC, said: “Reading Month is an important annual event that supports our wise leadership’s vision of building a society of avid readers, where reading is a habit. entrenched daily routine that strengthens community members. ‘ knowledge and capabilities, enabling them to advance the development of the UAE. With our busy schedule for Reading Month, Arabic Language Center Abu Dhabi is laying the foundation for fostering a culture of reading among all segments of the community, in line with our mission to advance and increase engagement with the Arabic language.
His Excellency has invited all members of the public, especially families, to attend and participate in the activities and events that will be held throughout Reading Month to encourage children to form a strong connection with the written word – a essential element for learning and succeeding in life. .
Lectures and workshops organized by ALC throughout the month include “The Impact of Classical Arabic on Our Familiar Dialects”, “The Art of Writing Children’s Stories”, “Pioneers of Literature” and “The Art of Writing Biographies”. The agenda also includes a symposium for those preparing for the Exploring Arab Poetry series.
In addition, the Center is organizing an interactive evening program for children in Umm Al Emarat Park, over three days from March 17 to 19. The event will include several thematic spaces dedicated to storytelling, drawing and games, competitions and prizes, libraries and an entertainment corner.
